John Joseph

Dip T, B Ed, M Ed
mathematics and science education

From humble beginning as an early school-leaver and tradesman, Mr John Joseph now holds one of the most impressive education CVs in the education world. He has presented more than 2,000 keynote addresses and workshops on themes related to brains, across 32 countries. He is the author of multiple books, including How to create classrooms that are uplifting for the spirit, Mind Your Brain, and Brainy Parents – Brainy Kids.

John writes articles for schools which are used across all grade levels. He developed career profiling systems that are being translated into Mandarin, Thai, Arabic and Finnish. His on-line Young Thinkers’ Program is being used to implement critical and creative thinking programs globally. Mr Joseph has taught at all school grade levels from kindergarten to senior high school and has taught extensively in education programs at 3 Australian universities.

John holds a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Science Education from the University of South Australia. He has an amazing passion and knowledge for neuro-education. His focus is on learning: how it happens; how to maximize it; how to inspire it; and practical strategies to enhance it.

John grew up in poverty, in a large family of 11. But, like his brothers and sisters, John knew that the only limitations we face are the ones we create in our own minds. He is a parent of two adults, a grandparent and an uncle to dozens of nieces and nephews. He has battled multiple bouts of cancer, epilepsy and asthma, and inspires those with serious illnesses to live full and enriching lives.

When you engage John Joseph for your keynote or workshop, you engage a story that challenges conventional thinking.

“I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.” –Stephen Covey

Testimonials

what you say about yourself matters less than what others say about you.

“John, have enormous respect for your professionalism and talk of your brain-based learning approach wherever I go. Only last week, I came across a cluster of schools using the BBL principles as the core strategy in school pedagogy; a discussion which again prompted me to mention your work. Your valuable message about how teachers can optimise their teaching effectiveness has been inspirational for thousands of teachers.”
Hon. Rod Welford, Minister for Education & Training, Government of Queensland, Australia

“Dear John, thank you for coming half way around the world to be with us in Istanbul, Turkey. You were sensational! Your workshops were overflowing. People were spellbound by what you had to say about the brain and how the way it works affects teaching and learning. Your presentations and content were just so effective. We learnt a lot from you.” “
David Chojnacki, Executive Director, NESA, 5-day residential conference for 1,200 delegates, Istanbul, Turkey
